JAY Z “Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film”…..

DOPENESS TO THE NEXT LEVEL…. NO OTHER WORDS NEEDED..!!!!!!

LOL This gives me an insight into how Tim is, and thinks… even after meeting homie. LOL dude is on his ownnnnnnn ting…!!!

Jay Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail ( The New Ish..!!)

image

An album with A LOT of BADMANS in one room…

image

Ok This is my first reaction to what I hear track by track. As I am hearing it 1 by 1 I am typing the first thing that comes into my head, and yes these are my own opinions… Yal can think what you like…

1. Opening of Holy grail was the title track feat Justin. nice opening sounding like a Cold Play tune

2. Picasso Baby = YESS!!!  beat is harrrd straight Timbo.. nice dirty drums and bass sound. Even the beat switch at the end. Dude be coming with some lines, some triple rhyming punchlines. Fav tune so far

3. Tom Ford -  sounds like classic Timbo 808 sounds. not my favourite tune to be fair, quite prone to skip it and not come back to it, sounds a  bit like a freestyle. Got a bounce but not really changing the world. Maybe that was what was intended.

4. F*ckwithmeyouknowigotit -  OOOHHH YEAHH!!!! Beat is arrrrrrdddd..!!!! straight club banger, Ricky got that bounce in the hook… Not involved in his verse though (Crap).. Jay beat Ricky with a wooden spoon on naked flesh with his verse I’m afraid…

5. Oceans - lol this sounds like typical New skool Pharell (NOT Neptunes) on the boards. errr na!! not really involved i this one, although I like the hook Franc singing (clever)

6. F.U.T.W - Jay always has a joint like this on his ish…. its cool it;s aiight I guess

7. Somewhereinamerica. - NOW THIS RIGHT HERRRRE.!! YES..!!!! … Like this a lot beat is hard bringing it back to Piano grooves like Milkbone - Keep It Real or some ish like that. this one will get drawn a lot more for me

8. Crown - Nice tune makes sense for me even where its place in the track order

9. Heaven - Errrrr I Don’t like it. SORRY.. I get the tune, get why it was done, even like some things he is saying about religion but NAH..!!!! Don’t like how its put together. Just my opinion everyone welcome to their own.

11. Part II - Like how Beyonce sounds on the tune. like the drums, music is nice. Jay rapiping different on this one again freestyle-ish, but I like this one though, good driving music.

12. Beach Is Better - It seems that dude is rapping better on some of the skits than he is in the actual tunes.. (Is that a good look?)

13. BBC - I can tell from a mile Pharrell’s influence on this one. Even though I can hear Timbo on it too. Yeah its alight again not changing the world

14. Jay Z Blue - This tune is cleaver. From how they using the Biggie samples to how its put together even though its still like a jam session. (reoccurring pattern on this album)

15. La Familia - Why is Jay drawin for those DRY dirty south flows..???? sounds weird to me. Like the beat though, lol like the little down low digg to Lil Wane (Oopps.!!)

16. Nickels And Dimes -  Hmmmmmmmm..!!!! So we have come to the end?

The whole album for me goes downhill halfway through. But to me it actually sounds like Jay ain’t writing his raps down. Yes I know he never does but it was never noticeable like this. On  here it is apparent that the project sounds like a big jam session with a bunch of freestyles. I am NOT saying I don’t like the album, just saying the idea of getting all the Dons together Rick Ruben, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and Pharrell in one room, actually sounds like that.

They were all in one room jammin and at the same time recording a collection of tracks. I also expected this so I am not disappointed. Dude aint really got much to prove. Just sayin the album is like a big Jam session with freestyles on a collection of tracks. My two Favourite being Picasso Baby and SomeWhereInAmerica

Sue Me.. :)

THE B.E.T AWARDS 2012

Ok where do I start, let me try and break it down very quickly. Here it goes.!!!

A lot of emotions with this years awards, a lot of jokes, sadness, anger, and inspiring energy was the journey we were taken on, this year:

Kanye opened up and put it down with the Good Music crew, finishing with a dope acapella rap. Then dropped the mic and bopped, like a badman

Samuel L Jackson was the host and he introduced himself to the crowd with his cover of “Negroes in Paris” with Spike Lee (I will get to spike in a minute lol).

Sammy J came on bussin a great double time rap a little out of breath buts thats cool he’s not a youngen anymore, with the hook “ I gets paid” cracked me up but what did it for me was when he did his Gator from Jungle Fever dance while quoting “I smoke the jeezy mumma” (in stitches). Now over to Spike (Wow) all I can say was timing and garms..!! HA!!.

Nicky came on performing “Beez in The Trap” showing us her secret, and Victoria was NOT in sight (Sheesh)

Kim Kardashian was really letting us know who she was rollin “wid” too in the front row.

One of my favorite performances was from that boy D’angelo bringin us the funky (Badman) rockin the piano too,  harrd.!!!

Mike Eps always kills me when does what he does, (ooooohh yeahh). Kevin Hart and Sammy J did a funny sketch called “The Real Husbands Of Hollywood.”

The Maybach Music boyz tried to do their thing too on stage (let’s not discuss the raps over raps on the track), Wale was crackin me up though. When he got his award, man ran across the floor and spilt over Jay Z’s juice (Champs) while Kanye screw’d him down.

Got a bit emotional when Frankie Beverly got the lifetime achievement award. FAITH mannnn!!! killed the tribute (Happy fFeelings) with Joe and Tyrese before Franky came and did one of my favorite tunes from Maze feat. Frankie Beverly - “We Are One” THE BAND WAS ON COMPLETE LEVELS..!!

Jay Z and Kanye won best Video, with the Mrs in the same category was funny to see them battling it out, before Jay got Kanye back for how he does all the time at awards shows (funny)

Reverend Al Sharpton’s speech when he won the Humanitarian award was something to listen to for real.

Now for Whitney’s tribute….!!! Very emotional on all levels for everyone, especially when her mother came on to sing “Like A Bridge Over Troubled Water”  Monica, Brandy, and Chaka Khan all represented.

There were some performances and great outfits, which I was totally not feeling whatsoever but I am not even going to bother talking bout them. (Not that type of party).

Man there was lots to talk about, but I would be talking your ears off all day, and Im just saying the first things that come to me off the top of my head.

I do like awards though, gets me energized to lace. Job well done BET.
